- for the bookshelf

Computer Security is a neat, inexpensive, 51-page booklet designed as a guide to
computer security for employees. At just under $15 it is a sound investment for
any business, enterprise, or other organisation to
distribute to employees who have anything to do with computer systems - desktop,
workstation, or server.
The book's subtitle is 20 Things Every Employee Should Know. It contains twenty
"items", each of which is dealt with in a single page spread. The style is
simple, without being patronising, and covers the important bases, so to speak.
The topics include the need to perform regular backups, email (hoaxes, risks),
passwords, viruses and malware, and dangers of the Internet.
An order form at the back of the book is for US customers, but it indicates
there is a substantial discount for bulk purchases. Well worth investigating,
even if you have just a few employees. There is a copy in the library for
examination.
